Basic II Obedience Training Class

Objectives

  

  • Build confidence and strengthen the bond between you and your dog
  • Cultivate the skills you and your dog learned in Basic l Obedience class
  • Improve control, consistency, and attention
  • Transition to loose-lead and off-lead walking
  • Wean off treat rewarding
  • Assist in behavior modification for a better behaved dog and family member

Training Method

 

  • The training program utilizes a system of reinforcement and correction.  While working your dog, the class continues with the treat-luring reward system learned in Basic l to motivate the dog into the desired behavior. Once the dog and handler have a firm grasp of the task, the handler will wean food rewards and focus more on physical and verbal praise.

  

Class Information

  • Tuition is $120
  • 6 weekly, hour long sessions
  • Required equipment - 6' leash, a training collar, and soft treats
  • Pay by check or cash
  • Minimum of 2 students
  • Maximum of 8 students
