Training Method

  • The training program utilizes a system of reinforcement and correction. While working your puppy or dog, begin with a treat-luring reward system. This system requires the handler to use a verbal cue followed by the use of a treat to lure, or guide, the puppy or dog into the proper position.  Once the dog has achieved the proper position, the handler rewards the dog with the treat as well as verbal and physical praise. When the dog masters the task, the handler will slowly wean the food rewards to develop more reliability with the task.
